Welcome to Homer Michigan

A Brief History

Homer was settled by Milton Barney in 1832, who named the settlement "Barneyville". In 1834 it was renamed Homer after a city in New York. It was incorporated as a village in 1871.  Today, "Homer is Home" to many proud citizens.

Mission

The Homer Area Chamber of Commerce was developed with the sole purpose of promoting the Homer area and it's businesses.  Enjoy our website as you learn more about Homer and the Chamber of Commerce!

Located at the crossroads of state highways M-60 and M-99, we boast of our hometown Cascarelli's pizza, and of our Homer Trojans school sports.

To learn more about Homer's history, pick up a copy of the Homer Historical Society's new history book "Ties to Homer".  You can borrow a copy or buy one of your own by visiting the Homer Public Library at 141 W. Main Street in Homer.
